FHS Electronic Device Expectations

Student Use of Cell Phones and Other Personal Electronic Devices

District 49 has adopted a new phone policy JICJ, updated from last year's protocol. Student cell phones and other devices are expected to be put away during class time. Students will turn in their phone when requesting a Hall Pass. Attached here is our FHS Electronic Device Expectations, consistent with D49 Board Policy - exceptions are specified in D49 Board Policy.

We appreciate your support in this endeavor. The responsible use of cell phones is beneficial and helpful in many ways. Teaching students to be aware of the negative impact cell phones and social media can have on them and learning to regulate and moderate their use is a priority and a challenge. It is important we work together to support this learning. Restricting cell phone use during class time is a reasonable step in this endeavor. Thank you again for your support.
