FALCON FLASHBACKS
WE WANT YOUR PICTURES!!! Do you have any pictures of moments, events, outings, etc., from the last 4 years? We would love to celebrate your time here at FHS!!! If you have photos from the last 4 years as a Falcon (and are comfortable sharing them), please follow this link to the Google Form. These must be in good nature, light-hearted, and school-appropriate!
END OF YEAR SENIOR EVENTS
Friday, May 1st- Senior Breakfast - 9am - 11sm
Our event will be at Phil Long Music Hall at Bourbon Brothers in north Colorado Springs. Doors will open at 8 am with the event beginning promptly at 9 am and ending at 11 am.
- This is a ticketed event. TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT. Seniors who have purchased a ticket for this event are excused from classes the rest of the day following the event.
FYIs for this Event
- Commemorative tickets will soon be handed out to all attendees during school hours. These are purely a keepsake and NOT required for entry.
- This event is our Capping Ceremony for Seniors and their families. This event is the kick-off to the Senior Season!
o What is a Capping Ceremony? A capping ceremony is when seniors receive their caps and gowns in an honorary fashion. Parents (or a person of the student’s choice) will place the graduation cap on the Senior’s head to signify their successes at Falcon High School.

- (This is 18 miles/30 minutes from Falcon High School)
- The suggested dress code for this event is business casual.
- Parking is on-site and free to attendees.
- This is an optional event. Families and students are not obligated to attend.
- Students who do not attend Senior Breakfast can pick up their cap and gown at FHS in the Success Center beginning Monday, May 4th.
Friday, May 1st- Deadline for both Clap Out and Take Over permission slips
These permission slips can be found in the Counseling Office or H210. Please turn them into the same locations once you have filled them out and received the required signatures!
Monday, May 4th- Friday, May 8th- SENIOR WEEK!
- Senior Spirit Week (available for all grades)
- Monday: Dress as your Tiny Self- recreate a photo from your past! Kudos if you bring the photo!
- Tuesday: Anything but a Backpack- who can be the most creative?? Should NOT disrupt classes!
- Wednesday: Meme Day- recreate your favorite meme (school-appropriate)- who can guess it?!
- Thursday: Future Career Day- rep your future career or college choice!
- Friday: Senior Citizens - dress as a Senior Citizen! Who is cuter- you or Grandma??
- “Find a Frog” Competition (available to all grades)
- Our seniors are about to LEAP into the future…but first, it’s time for you to HOP into action. Tiny toy frogs will be hidden all around the school, and it’s your job to find them!
- See a frog? Snatch it. No hesitation. No mercy. (Okay, maybe a little mercy.) The student who collects the most frogs by the end of the day on Friday, May 8th, will win a prize and earn the highly prestigious, totally brag-worthy title of Frog Finder Champion!!
- May your eyes be sharp, your reflexes quick, and your pockets full of frogs. Happy hunting!
Thursday, May 7th- Senior Clap Out
PERMISSION SLIP REQUIRED! These permission slips can be found in the Counseling Office or H210. Please turn them into the same locations once you have filled them out and received the required signatures! Deadline is May 1. Seniors are expected to return to class after the event ends. If a student does not wish to return to class, the proper absence procedures must be completed.
What is this event?? A “Senior Clap Out” is a celebratory school tradition where graduating Seniors walk through the halls one last time while underclassmen and staff/students line the corridors to clap, cheer, and congratulate them. It’s a way to recognize the Seniors’ accomplishments and send them off with support as they prepare to “step out” into their next chapter after high school. Revisit memory lane with a tour through the Falcon Zone elementary schools (yes, all of them) and middle school!
- Requirements:
- Parent signature.
- All Seniors must ride D49 transportation.
- All Seniors must attend in their cap/gown regalia.
Friday, May 8th- Senior Take Over

What is this event?? Senior Takeover is a longstanding tradition here at FHS where Seniors get to “take over” classrooms for a day! Help teach, plan activities, and make the day fun! Lunch is provided for all participants on this day.
- Requirements:
- Teacher signatures.
- 2 Seniors per teacher; no exceptions.
- You must be present ALL day regardless of free periods.
Friday, May 8th- Senior Sunset
This is your last social event of the year! This year, the Senior Committee has created the ultimate movie experience! Join us from 6-8 pm in the FHS Media Center (Library) for The Lego Batman Movie, FREE concessions, all while bonding over creating lasting memories.
- FYIs:
- Enjoy hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and all the sweets you can stomach!
- Bring your Senior class shirts! Sign them, tie-dye them, paint them- we have it all!
- Don’t have a class shirt yet?! They are for sale in the Media Center!!! $5 CASH ONLY.
- Take photos and craft your heart out to commemorate your Senior year!
Friday, May 15th- Seniors’ Last Day
Any Seniors who are required to take a final should be doing so prior to May 15. Remember, you are only exempt from a final if you have an 89.5 or higher in a class (this does not apply to some classes; please speak to your teachers directly to confirm).
Friday, May 22nd- MANDATORY Graduation Rehearsal - 12:30 pm- 3 pm in the FHS Auditorium.
Please plan accordingly (work, family, etc.)- You ARE expected to be there. This has been shared since January!
GRADUATION
Saturday, May 23rd: Falcon High School Graduation at the Broadmoor World Arena at 1 pm. This is NOT a ticketed event. This is a free event open to the public. Families are free to bring whomever they’d like.
Please review the attached rules and regulations provided by the Broadmoor World Arena. Please know we cannot override any restrictions put forth. However, if you have any questions, please email MRS. RAMIREZ directly as she is the liaison for BWA. Please do not contact BWA as they will only tell you to contact Mrs. Ramirez.
SENIOR ORDERS
For transparency, the only necessary or required purchase from Jostens is the cap and gown unit. They offer many, many items and many packages. These extra cost items are at each family’s discretion. If you are only interested in the cap and gown unit, please purchase it directly here.
- You are welcome to use a gown from the Class of 2023 if you happen to know anyone who has one. With the gown in hand, you will only need to purchase a cap. These are ordered via phone: Office 719-633-8228.
o Gowns used before the Class of 2023 are NOT the same and cannot be used for our graduation ceremony.
Please make note: Cap and gowns will first be distributed at Senior Breakfast. Anyone who does not attend Senior Breakfast can pick up their cap and gown starting May 4 in the Success/Counseling Center.
